MEDAL AS REWARD!!! I need help with how to figure out this problem?
hello?
@jbell0 :D w8 a min ;-)
|dw:1377005432435:dw|
you should find minimum and maximum of x
how do I do that...... O.e
|dw:1377005873138:dw| i'm not sure but....
|dw:1377006086915:dw| in first: x+4>y x+y>4 y+4>x y+6>7.4 y+7.4>6 7.4+6>y x+7.4>10 maybe you can find maximum and minimum... i don't know now ;)
................................O.e....thanks but.....hahaha I've already tried that and I don't know what to do
:D me too :P
The two triangles created by the bisector are proportional. So there are the 2 possibilities as shown in the picture above (depending on whether the 7.4 side is adjacent the 4 side, or the 6 side). In one possibility, you have \[\frac{ 7.4 }{ 6 }=\frac{ x }{ 4 }\]Solve it for x. In the other possibility, you have \[\frac{ x }{ 6 }=\frac{ 7.4 }{ 4 }\]Solve it for x. One is the minimum, and the other is the maximum.
