With his invention of the movable type. He was able to spread his ideas farther and faster than before. Instead of being only available to the rich books, could be mass produced.This invention also improved literacy rates.

It's for the renaissance not the early industrial revolution. The renaissance is all about the spread of ideas and the printing press helped that by making texts easier to obtain.
