3n+2= -2n - 8 Subract 2 both sides 3n+2= -2n - 8 3n -2=-2n-2 ========= 3n=-2n=-10 Shift 2n left side 3n+2n=-10 5n=-10 Divide 5 with -10 n=-10/5 n=-2
