4(f-2)=4f what does f equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, use the distribution property to get rid of the parenthesis, so you will get 4f-8=4f then.... umm.... I don't think that's possible, impossible, I forget the math term for n/a.

There will be no solution. When you simplify by distributing 4 to (f-2) 4f - 8 = 4f subtracting 4f from both sides - 8 = 0 Which is not a true statement
