Consider the graph shown below: Which transformations applied to the graph of y = sin(x) would result in the graph shown above? Write the equation of the graph. https://www.virtualhighschool.com/content/OSSD-v2/Department/Math/courses/MCR3U/ver-D/Transforming_Trig/images/44.png?_&d2lSessionVal=zz5owIE4LYpM64Qh3q7GmzDHv
Can anyone help?
do you know sin(x) graph?
yes
I just looked it up pn google but I need help with the transformation
on*
what's differ between this graph on your link and graph of y=sin(x)?
its more narrower I guess but can you tell me the exact transformations?
you just need answer? ;-)
yes
just the transformations
y=2sin(3x)
thats the equation?
ohom, if draw it, you can see your graphs in your link ;-)
what?
@mhmdrz91 are u sure that its of sin(3x)? its an inverted cosine pattern sin(x + 90+180) which is sin(x+270) as far as the angle is concerned and for magnitude multiply it by 2
I dint write the transformations directly there btw
I need the transformations !
what are the transformations for converting sin(x) to cos(x)?? @cupcakezz
idk

@SandeepReddy no! it's y=-2sin(3x) :D
you are expected to learn the concepts , not the answers for a particular problem. Sin and cosine are the fundamental trigonometric identities that will not only come in math but also in other sciences and subjects ( even in biology) everywhere, so be perfect in them first. you should be atleast in a position to identify a cosine curve from sine curve
@mhmdrz91 what makes u think that is an answer?
@SandeepReddy http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D-2sin%283x%29
@mhmdrz you are right, i'm sorry i overlooked
@mhmdrz91 thanx fr opening my eyes :)
@SandeepReddy :)) Opening your eyes? :P kidding me? :P have nice time ;)
