Three good guys and three bad guys were running from a forest fire. They came to a river full of crocodiles. There was a boat at the shore. The men had to get to the other side but the boat was only big enough to hold two people at a time. If there were ever more bad guys than good guys on (or near) one side of the river, then the bad guys there would kill the good guys there. The boat did not have a motor but it had to oars. How did all six men get across the river safely if all men could oar?
keep in mind that you can row people from the destination back to the source, rowing across the river a one-way thing. that is the key to solving this problem
I know, but I've been sitting here for the last two hours trying to figure it out. I've tried every possible way but I just can't seem to get it. I don't know what I am doing wrong :-(
@alexandercpark
I'm a bit stumped as well, are you sure this is the riddle?
Positive!
@alexandercpark
@robtobey can you help me plz
@e.cociuba
First send one of each across the river. So, you send a good and bad guy across. Send the good guy back with the boat. So, you have 3 good guys still at shore and 2 bad guys. Send the two bad guys across the river. So, now you have 2 bad guys across. The 3rd bad guy is going to go back to get the good guys. (There're 2 bad guys now across). Now you're going to send 2 good guys across and send one of each back. You're now going to send 2 good guys across and send the bad guy back. Send two bad guys across and one bad guy back for the others. Last of all, you send both bad guys over and tada! They all made it.
thank you! @e.cociuba
No problem :) Did you understand it?
Yes! I don't know how I didn't get it before! It seems so simple now! :P
Lol, I'm glad you understand now :) Took me a while to figure out, but I got it :)
