The price of a gallon of gas has risen to $2.87 today. Yesterdays price was $2.82. Find the percentage increase, round answers to nearest tenth

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

What you have to over here is find the CHANGE in price FROM the ORIGINAL price :) So percentage increase is given by ---> change * 100/original So here change is 0.05$ And the original one in 2.82$ So % Increase = 0.05/2.82 * 100 1.77% :D Getting me? :)
