Which statement explains how the outcome of the Cuban Missile Crisis affected the Cold War? It stimulated Soviet expansion in Latin America. It encouraged direct communication between US and Soviet leaders. It led to an intensification of the nuclear arms race. It motivated the United States to seek an alliance with Communist China.
I THINK It led to an intensification of the nuclear arms race.
I'd probably go with the second answer myself, that it encouraged direct communication between US and Soviet leaders. The reason why is that the Crisis was one of the closest moments in history that the world came to nuclear war. After the Crisis was resolved, it was clear that the US and the Soviet leaders needed to have a way to reach each other directly in order to confront such issues, so the famous hotline was created linking the White House with the Kremlin shortly afterwards. In some Cold War fiction, the famous "red phone" seen on the President's desk in movies stands in for that hotline. Here's a link to help shed a little more light on this if you want the particulars: http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/hotline-established-between-washington-and-moscow
It is B.
