Why did George Washington support the creation of a national bank? (3 points) A) Washington believed that each of the states needed to have its own money. i think D Washington listened to the arguments of Hamilton and Jefferson... Hamilton believed a central bank was necessary to stabilize and improve the nation's credit , and improve the nation's credit , and to improve handling of the financial business of the United States government under the newly enacted constitution. Jefferson believed the bank was unconstitutional , and that it benefited merchants and investors at the expense of the majority of the population. Washington agreed with Hamilton.
