a 24-cm piece of wire is cut into two pieces. One piece is bent into a square and the other is bent into a circle. If X is length of the piece bent into a circle, express the total area of the circle as a function of x.

if X length of piece is bent into circle, then X would be the circumferece of the circle remember it. now as X length gone in circle, we left with 24 - X length that's bent into square, then 24 - X would become the perimeter of the square. |dw:1377097728242:dw|
