Marna wants to store two hundred cubic inches of homemade pasta sauce in a food storage container. Should she choose the cylinder with a radius of 3 inches and a height of 7 inches, or the cube with a side length of 6 inches? Explain.

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

I think it would be better if she stores it in a cube right? Because a cube will have volume 6*6*6 = 216 cubic inches! Thus the cube will even have 16 cubic inches to spare!! :D But the cylindrical jar would fall short over there! As the volume of the cylinder would be less than 200 cubic inches! Getting me? :D

yup thanks
