What significance does the case of Marbury v. Madison have on today's cases? Marbury v. Madison established judicial review which helps current citizens seek assistance from the court system when they believe a law has violated their rights. Marbury v. Madison sets a precedent for today's cases by establishing that past rulings must be considered case law, and current judges must abide by those laws. Justices hearing Marbury v. Madison upheld Marbury's request resulting in a process that still allows citizens to sue political officials when they feel a law is unconstitutional. Justices hearing Marbury v. Madison declared "separate but equal" as unconstitutional which ended segregation and introduced equality among men as we know it today.
i think Marbury v. Madison established judicial review which helps current citizens seek assistance from the court system when they believe a law has violated their rights.
