If Elizabeth is rolling a normal unweighted 6 sided die what is the probablity that the sum is greater than 8 AND even?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

is Elizabeth rolling a pair of dice...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so what values can you get, greater than 8 and even....do you know..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There should only be 10 and 12. We did this in class today and our teacher was trying to tell is that it was 24/36 even though most of us just said 4/36 because there are 3 chances for a 10 to be had and the only once for 12.... I'm just trying to figure out who was right, most of the class or my teacher.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

yes thats correct... and there are only 4 ways... out of 36...

Thank you so much... This has been bothering me all day. Haha!
