A subset must be completely contained in the set of which it is a subset. I don't know what your choices are (that's ok - I'd rather explain it and have you figure out the correct answer), but some subsets would be:

female children who are 7

female children who are 8-10

But something like "female children" or "children from 6-10" would NOT be subsets, because they contain elements NOT in the original set.
