f(x)=(x^3-4x^2-11x+30)/(x^2-4); x=2

this is not early as hard as it looks
factor and cancel

if you put \(2\) in the numerator you get zero
this means the numerator factors as \(x-2\) times something
the denominator is \((x-2)(x+2)\)
cancel the common factor of \(x-2\) and that is your answer
