ok lets see a real life example of a negative number times a negative number will be You have been paying me $10 per month (rate = -60) for some time now. 6 months from now you will be out another $60. 6 * -10 = -60 6 months ago (negative time) you had $60 more than you do now. -6 * -10 = 60 So we have a negative rate multiplied by a negative time finding you used to have MORE money.
