A regular pentagon has side length 12 cm. The perimeter of the pentagon is 60 cm and the area is 247.7 cm2. A second pentagon has side lengths equal to 18 cm. Find the perimeter of the second pentagon. A. 40 cm B. 65 cm C. 90 cm D.49 cm

OpenStudy (ja1):

Simple, how do you calculate perimeter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add up all the sides

OpenStudy (ja1):

Exactly! So how many sides does a pentagon have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (ja1):

Perfect! So if the first pentagon had 5 sides and each side was 12 the perimeter is 60 because: 12 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 12 = 60

OpenStudy (ja1):

So if the new pentagon has 18 in long sides what is the perimeter ?

OpenStudy (ja1):

cm*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

90 cm
