Susan is doing a practice run of the 60 meter dash for her track and field team. Her trainer looks at his watch and says her time is 8 seconds. Susan insists he use her watch instead. Why would she do this?

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Because there is a possibility that the trainer's watch may show some ERRORS! And it is always a better option to take multiple readings or observations to get rid of ERRORS! Getting it? :)

@AkashdeepDeb: The question is asking why she would choose her watch INSTEAD of his. Most likely it's because she knows that her watch is more accurate than his.

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

to take multiple readings and then take the average to get rid of any error. :)
