does anyone know the meaning of "all that lives is holy." Chapter 13, pg. 184 of The Grapes Of Wrath

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It seems quite literal. All = Everything that = an indicator word lives = is alive, not inorganic or dead. is = third person singular indicative of be. holy = recognized by religious belief to be special or divine So they are saying that according to religious beliefs: if something is alive, it is special.
