Explain how atomic number relates to the number of particles in an atom's nucleus.

The atomic mass say is Z.
If A is the protons, and B is the neutrons, then C is the electrons.

A=C in an uncharged/non-ion element
A+B = Z
Z-B = A, also the atomic number or # of proton
