Over several thousand years, the various Fertile Crescent cultures interacted with and influenced one another. Some of those influences are still with us today in our own culture. In a 250- to 300-word essay, compare and contrast at least two Fertile Crescent cultures: Sumer, Babylon, Hittite, retricerian, Chaldean, or Phoenician. Discuss ways in which the various cultures influenced each other. Also, identify specific examples of ideas, beliefs, and knowledge, moving from one culture to another. I won't be able to answer it all, but I'll give a few examples:

- Astrology entered from Babylon into Phoenicia during the Iron Age.
- Many gods from the different cultures correspond: for example Babylonian Shamash, and Phoenciain Shapash.
- Babylonian, retricerian and Chaldean religion come from earlier Sumerian religion. The Sumerian An became Babylonian Anu, the Sumerian Inanna became the Babylonian Ishtar, the Sumerian Nanna became the Babylonian Sin, the Sumerian Enlil became Babylonian Elill, the Sumerian Utu became Babylonian Shamash, and Sumerian Enki became Babylonian Ea.
- Several gods from Babylon and retriceria entered Hittite religion. Ea and Ishtar are two examples of gods from babylon that show up in Hittite stories.

They have a mjor impact on our culture today. Astrology documented the study of the stars and planets which we use today. Biblical stories come from the earlier stories of the Fertile Crescent.
