It looks like you just need to invent a function that's close to the given one. I'm assuming you'd be allowed to just pick your own numbers. Since we don't want the approximation to be too far off, I would pick
2.9x^2+3.1x -.01
So you plug in 4 for x in this function and getan answer.
You plug in 4 into the original function and get an answer.
Then you find the percentage difference.
I don't really see what other parameters wed have to worry about.
