Darnell is selecting names from a hat to determine who will choose the family activities for the weekend. The names in the hat include his mother, father, sister, and him. Calculate the probability of each compound event. Match Term Definition Probability(Darnell and sister), with replacement A) one-sixteenth Probability(mother and father), without replacement B) one-sixth Probability(parent and sister), without replacement C) one-twelfth Probability(parent and child), with replacement D) one-fourth

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Without replacement, the probability of any particular outcome on the first draw is 1/4, then on the 2nd draw it would be 1/3, since one name is gone, right? But with replacement, the probability will be 1/4 each time, since there are always 4 names "in the hat". Does that make sense so far?
