Choose one of the following areas of research and describe how these scientific studies will have an affect on the economy, politics, and society. You can choose from the following: scientists studying the atmosphere, air pollution, and weather patterns; scientists studying renewable energy resources like solar and wind energy; or scientists studying water movement and the hydrologic cycle.
Hi @StephKayCee. All of these areas of studies have equal importance nowadays. So, what kind of help do you need precisely?
I just don't know how to answer it because I have no idea what the effects of those are on economy, politics, and society
I think that you should pick a topic which is of interest to you - a topic about which you're pretty knowledgeable. And then try to read about that area online. Many of these areas of research are all other the news. Renewable energies are in the limelight these days. Renewable energies are helping to address environmental problems such as global warming, which is linked to economy, politics as well as society. You'll find lots of pieces of information in the news, scientific papers among others.
all over the news**
Ok, let me do some research and type something up and then I'll post it here and see if you approve haha :)
Okay ^^ We'll be happy to help you :)
Scientists Studying Renewable Energy Sources Like Solar and Wind Energy Affect on Economy: Federal support for renewable energy has escalated rapidly over the past few decades. Federal subsidies including R&D, direct federal spending, and tax credit programs, have more than quadrupled. Renewable energy sources receive a greater share of federal dollars than any other source of energy. Affect on Politics: Even after President Obama's ambitious and expensive stimulus plan to rack up federal spending for alternative energy by $100 billion, renewable resources will still comprise a small amount of all energy use. Affect on Society: The costs of producing and transmitting alternative sources is very high. Even after the federal government has provided billions of tax dollars in support to bring the price down, their costs still soar high above fossil fuel energy sources.
@kayne
Hey, you have to read from different sources and merge the ideas and not just copy paste and just bring about minimal changes :s I'll try to give you a guide line. Topic: Renewable Energies Economy: I think the question which you should ask yourself is how the economy is going to benefit this new field of study? Well, economy = labor force = money! Just the fact that the country is going to invest in renewable energy, they will become less dependent on non-renewable energy. I can assure you that all countries are highly dependent on petroleum products for energy - electricity, transport etc.. So, as a whole, in the long run. Economy = Creation of new jobs + Lower investment in petroleum products = Healthy economy. Politics: I think that you should take it on an international level. The question you should try to answer is that what are the countries which have most of the oil in the world? Look at the oil crisis in the US which happened in 1970s I think. This will give you a better picture! Society: How will renewable energy benefit you or be a disadvantage to you? Things which you should look at are initial costs, long term advantage, environment etc..
