What logarithmic function represents the data in the table?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x f(x) 25 2 125 32 625 4

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well looking at x in terms of powers of 5 you get \[25 = 5^2.... 125 = 5^3 ...and.... 625 = 5^4\] and the powers seem to be the f(x) values.... so I'd say its a base 5 log

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = logx 5 f(x) = log5 x f(x) = 5 log x f(x) = log 5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b or d ?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

nope its base 5 so \[\log_{5}(25) = 2\] so \[f(x) = \log_{5} x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b
