Find S8 for the series -2 + -10 + -50 + -250 +…

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the series is geometric... so what is the common ratio...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so what is each term being multiplied by to get the next term.... that is called the common difference... it found by comparing terms \[r = \frac{a_{2}}{a_{1}} = \frac{a_{3}}{a_{2}}...\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

oops should be common ratio... not difference

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

If this is an infinite series, the terms get larger and larger in the negative direction, which means that the sum will not converge. If this is a sequence, then we can find the nth term.

i just need the answer.. please and thnk you

thats not helping me
