b(x)=|x+4| find b(-10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -6 but I'm not sure if it's right.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

You're not quite correct. When you have an absolute symbol, anything inside the absolute sign makes your answer positive. So your answer is actually \(6\). If you have \(x = |-10434823|\) your final answer is \(x = 10434823\)

Ohhh alright that makes a lot more sense. Thanks!
