Use quadratic formula
a=6 b=-1 c=-2
x = [1 +-sqrt(1 - 4*6*-2)]/ 2*6
x = [1 +-sqrt(49)] / 12
x = 8 / 12 = 2/3
x = 1 -7 / 12
x = -6/12 = -.5

I think the answer is 1/2 and -2/3 but people are saying it's not that but the thing is these are the answers to this question
