Medal+Fanning all who helps.Thank you Create a unique quadratic equation in the form y = ax2 + bx + c. Use complete sentences and show all work to determine the following: •Does the graph open up or down? How do you know? (2 points) •Explain whether the graph has a maximum or minimum point. (2 points) •Find the vertex and x-intercepts of the graph. (3 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wolf1728

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is so funny?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wolf1728

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok now what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You surely want Wolf to help you, so I'll let him/her help you. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Loll I don't mind who helps me understand the question I just tagged him because he usually comes @Mikeyy1992

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

No mikeyy - you have already demonstrated your mathematical acumen and you are therefore the only person in this message board (maybe even the entire planet) that knows all the answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lmao

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, from earlier today.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You read earlier questions 0.o lmao

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I was not trying to confuse anybody mikeyy - how about helping HelloGoodMorning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would, but he surely wants you to help. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Again I say I don't mind whoever helps me. You two couold even teamwork to help me for this question. My brain is very fried so I would really appreciate the help and hey @Directrix

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'm assuming the first question is asking if the quadratic is concave up or down. So let's devise a quadratic equation 2x² +3 -4 =0 It is concave up (shaped like a 'U') because the 'a' term (2) is positive.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I guess mikeyy left.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Loll well then

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The graph (being concave up) has a minimum point. (Technically it does have a maximum point - infinity).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Up~Minimum Down~Maximum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok should I be putting all this inside my notebook to turn into my teacher online

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol. FLVS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup >:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did this same problem. Lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm so sick of flvs but I have to finish ninth grade apexvs messed me up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wolf, you gave a bad equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait guys could you please do this step by step I need to be able to comprehend it so I can turn it in online

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Doesn't fit the form.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The vertex (minimum or maximum point) is found by taking a derivative of the equation. The derivative of 2x² +3x -4 =0 is 4x +3 so the vertex is at x = -3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Goodjob fixing your typo :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could we start over guys I'm a little bit lost.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the same equation and copy and paste what you have too just please start again

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

okay mikeyy I think HelloGoodMorning wants to see real answers here with none of this foolishness thrown in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He could of been done by now, if you didn't try to argue with me and change the equation.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

You mean I could HAVE been done by now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, he could of had all the information on this question and finished it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Guys no need for arguments.Lets get together and feel alright. One love .One heart. Lets get together and feel alright.EVERYBODY NOW!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@HelloGoodmorning I just don't want you to get bad information.

OpenStudy (littlebird):

Why don't you just answer the question Mikey?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Loll I understand go on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried too, but I left Wolf do his thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Still explain yours I don't mind who helps me I appreciate all who helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U haffi Do What You Haffi Do Fi Get Di Answer. Follow Yeh Art Bwoy , You'll Find Di Answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't remember, I made the equation up and deleted it, because of Wolf making up his own.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

made*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe it was: 2x^2 + 3x + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Loll I understand go on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lmfao @sos101 leave me alone bro :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the variable a is positive you know that it will have a minimum point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lmao @HelloGoodmorning I live with u ; I'll never leave u alone :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which concludes it will be a upward parabola.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok mikeyy could you do me a favor and explain it all in one and loll I know sos lmao

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The vertex is: -3/4 over 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty sure, you could just use -3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x- intercepts are -2 and 0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dude could you explain it all in one you know flvs the way it goes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You now have all the information to need to fill out your questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All in one, so you can copy and paste. You know you need to put it in your own words, then you won't lose points or get a 0 on it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course I have to put it in my own words but it would have been a lot easier to put it all together so I can actually understand you and then put it in my own words

OpenStudy (littlebird):

I know this isn't my math homework, but how did you get the vertex?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can just read over it, it's all right there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have graphing technology.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will have to regardless

OpenStudy (littlebird):

How did people do math without graphing calculators?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You tell me. Lol.

OpenStudy (littlebird):

XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you finished explaining?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2 + 3x + 5 Since the variable a is positive you know that it will have a minimum point. The vertex is: -3/4 x- intercepts are -2 and 0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There. Lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lmao dude that's all I asked for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol. I put more time into this then my own exam.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm now going to put it in my own words

Directrix (directrix):

@HelloGoodmorning From @tcarroll010 http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/50a83151e4b0129a3c90209e Here's one for you. See attachment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix if he used that one, his teacher wouldn't give him credit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks Loll

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mikeyy1992 does your answer explain everything up there for my question?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

HelloGoodMorning Attached is a graph of the function.
