usually you'd solve for "x" first, that'd give you a line more or less you graph the line and then pick a point not in the line, one side of the line will turn TRUE, the other FALSE, the TRUE part gets shaded http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algebra/ae85/grineqa.htm
