hmmm, how many units you'd think FROM A to B?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
8?
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
yes, 8, the midpoint is well, half of 8 :|
OpenStudy (anonymous):
4

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
that's half way, so yes :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so the midpoint is 4?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
or 8?
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
mid = middle = half-way
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh my bad lol sorry

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
so half of 8 units is 4, the point at 4 is the middle point
OpenStudy (anonymous):
k k thx
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay then what does coordinate mean?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
cause the next question number 17 is asking that and i dont understand
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
well, Q = 4, B = 8
what's the half-way between 4 and 8?

like between the numbers?
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
yes, the coordinate will be the ordinal number at that point
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay so like 5,6,7??
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh alrght thx

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
so
Q B
4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ohh okayy
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay now number 19 is asking What is the coordinate of the midpoint of the segment formed by the two points you found in Exercise 17 and 18?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
ok, now we know that the midpoint of AB is Q = 4
and the midpoint of QB is ordinal number 6
19 is asking, what's the midpoint between those 2 found midpoints, that is 4 and 6
4 - 5 - 6
what do you think is the midpoint?

5
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
:)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so that's the answer?
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
yes
between 4 and 6 there are 2 units
2/2 = 1
so half-way is 1 unit away from 4
4+1 = 5
but you can see it right off anyway 4 - 5 - 6
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes alright thx again so much :)
