Evaluate |-6| + 3|4| + |-5| - 0 · 6. 0 18 23 25

@Four. can you help me on this one please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

seems like it's 23. What did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whatever is within the absolute value brackets is positive; Anything else remains the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you walk me through it please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That makes the negative 6 positive, since it's got an absolute value applied on, and so is the negative 5 at the very end. For the terms in between, nothing changes because nothing is negative, so it kinda stays the same. Doing the math, we get 23.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just did :)! Basically, neglect the negative signs as long as you have absolute value brackets included within.

That makes more sense than the directions stated in my lesson. Thank you @Four.

Lol does it? Glad it helped!
