What is the positive difference between the greatest and least prime factors of 2000

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmmm, so let's find the prime factorization of 2000.\[\Large 2000=16\times125\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Which can be further broken down into,\[\Large 2^4\times5^3\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm should we be including 1 and 2000 as factors of 2000 for this problem? :\ Hmm I'm not sure... If we are including them, then 1 would be our least prime factor, 5 our greatest. 5-1=4 If not, then 2 would be our least prime factor, 5 our greatest. 5-2=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 is not considered prime, zepdrix, nor is 2000. Therefore neither should be included.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

oh oh oh true story, 1 is not prime :3 ty lol
