HOW TO TURN A FRACTION INTO A DECIMAL...now decimal to fraction

OpenStudy (ajoy31):

do you have a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Oh Lord. I hope you aren't supposed to just punch it in a calculator, lol. That hardly teaches the concept. use long division. \(\dfrac{a}{b}=a\div b\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that doesn't get it into a decimal

OpenStudy (ajoy31):

a fraction is just division, so if you were to solve a fraction like you are dividing, you should get your decimal. For example, 1/2 is 1 divided by 2 which would be .5

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Sure it does - LONG division does. 2/5: |dw:1377476148736:dw|
