4= 7+3a - 2(2+ 5)

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

@samissmurfette , try to do this one the same way as the last one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. i'll try.

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

Did you forget a variable somewhere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( 2a+5) dangt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

21=a?

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

Could you show me your work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. 4=7+3a-4a+10 4+7+10=7a 21=7a I don't think I did it right. @jackellyn

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

When you distribute -2(2a+5) it looks like this -2(2a)+5(-2) -4a-10

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

4=7+3a-4a-10 4-7+10=3a-4a 7=-a a=-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. thank you. its easier whenever I have someone to do it one on one then it is in a class of 30. so it is appreciated @jackellyn

OpenStudy (jackellyn):

No problem :)
