why is the extracting of pure copper expensive

the ore may contain very small amount of copper is one thing and other is The more reactive the metal, the more expensive it is to extract. i think pure copper is produced from the electrolysis process for which lot of energy input are required :)

Cathode is -vely charged and anode is +vely charged :)
