If C = {integers divisible by 2 from 1 to 12} and D = {integers divisible by 4 from 1 to 16}, what is C ∩ D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C = {2,4,6,8,10} D = { 4,8,12} then C ∩ D = { 4,8} ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not following . :( I don't understand how you got that .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand this: C = {2,4,6,8,10}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah they're all even integers ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and do you understand this: D = { 4,8,12}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kind of .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why kind of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not so good in math .. So I dont know how to do it .. /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok,4,8,12 are from 1 to 16.OK?did you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 4,8,12 are divisible by 4,OK?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Following ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x1=4 4x2=8 4x3=12 OK?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so D={4,8,12} and C={2,4,6,8,10} any problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No , i got it .. Thank you . (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome :) ;)
