help medal and fan pic attached shortly
hey lugi did you see the link i cant pass this lest i have like 6 ?s like this
It says error
'okay let me see whats wrong
hey lugi can you see it now?
Yes, and it's backwards.. but finding an inverse is easy. Just switch y and x and solve for y
and how would i solve for Y
Okay so you have y=x-1 Now switch them: x=y-1 Now just solve for y
\[f ^{-1}(y)=x+1\]
Yup, easy right? :)
ok but do i write it like this because i get the right answer but it tells me that itswrong im i suppose to write differently
Hm, the way you write it is correct.. did they teach you differently?
idk i got all of them wrongg man
Oh, I think it might of been asking for just the inverse.. not the solved inverse.. So I think it just might of been x=y-1
Which is \[f^{-1}(y)=y-1\]
huh so its y-1?
well its say complete the equation for the inverse
Yea, the question isn't clear to me..
Well hey, i have to go. Try opening a new question with the same problem and see if anyone else can answer it. Sorry i couldn't help.
wait so ur best guesses are?
And just an educated guess but #2 might be C
See you now! @surjithayer might be able to help you from here :)
Let f(x)=y \[or x=f ^{-1}\left( y \right)\]
y=x-1 interchange x and y x=y+1 \[f ^{-1}\left( y \right)=x=y+1\]
thanks
