The area of this cylinder's base is one hundred fifty square inches. The height of the cylinder is 6 inches. What is the volume of the cone that has the same base area and height? Show the steps of your solution and explain your work.

OpenStudy (amriju):

the volume of the cylinder is area of base*height...volume of the cone = 1/3*base area*height...since both the base area and height are same for both the structures..so area of cone is 150*6/3=300 sq in

OpenStudy (amriju):

basically all parametres same area of cylinder is thrice that of cone..
