Kevin delivers newspapers in his town every morning. The amount he earns from delivering newspapers is given by Y = 30x + 18, where y is the amount he earns incense and X is the number of houses he delivers newspapers to. however he is paid a certain amount even if he doesn't deliver any newspapers on a certain day. How much is he paid if he doesn't deliver any newspapers? (X >or equal to 0 , y > or equal to 0)

18?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If he doesn't deliver any newspapers, x should equal 0 (he didn't deliver to any houses). Plug in 0 for x: y = 30(0) +18 = 18 He is paid 18 dollars (y).

Ya just replace x with 0 you will get 18
