Which of the following statements is true? (Points : 3) Segments AG and GC are perpendicular. Lines ED and HA are parallel. Lines AG and BF are perpendicular to each other. Lines AB and FE are perpendicular to each other.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its option C AG and BF are perpendicular.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am i correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No perpendicular means they intersect at a right angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i am wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So they ar enot perpendicular?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, the correct answer is the second one beastie they are parallel which means they have they same slope or they are alongside eachother

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*because

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its Lines ED and HA are parallel.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, do you understand?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

When things are perpendicular then they have at least one right angle or more. And parallel lines never meet. So see which ones works the best.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How is it is it because they have 90 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am comfused???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So waht are you guys trying to say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How does Lines ED and HA are parallel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it because they both are right angles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Errr..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what parallel means? If not, parallel means they have the same slope, do you know slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont see a slope??

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Use the process of elimination. The first option doesn't makes sense becuase they don't make a cross, meaning like a 90 degree angle The third option says that it is perpendicular. However the point that I am trying to get across is that you have to ignore all the other lines and even if they are not face to face, they will not meet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So answer B is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cause they are parrel

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Yes becuase parallel lines have the same distance between them.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Do you now understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh man...u need to learn slope to understand....maybe YouTube a video on slope
