A moderately active woman who is 5 ft 5 in. tall and weighs 120 lb needs 120 Calories per day to maintain her weight. Show that this is approximately the power of a 100-watt light bulb. Use the fact that 1 Calorie per day is equal to approximately 0.049 W. Can someone please give me some insight on this question?

OpenStudy (dan815):

hey so its saying 1 calorie/day = 0.049 watt

OpenStudy (dan815):

so 120 calories/day=?

OpenStudy (dan815):

i think the numbers in your question might be off somewhere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With 120 calories/day she will die of starvation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was 2100 Calories per day...(sorry...)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then 2100 Calories/day x 1 day x 0.049 Watts/Calorie= ???? watts
