Which of the following chemical equations is correctly balanced? Answer Na3PO4 + 3AgNO3 arrow NaNO3 + Ag3PO4 CH4 + 2O2 arrow CO2 + 2H2O 2Al + 6HCl arrow 2AlCl3 + 2H2 2AgNO3 + Cu arrow 2Cu(NO3)2 + 2 Ag I believe it's C, although I may be wrong.
do u think H are balanced in the equation C ?
@Pumpkin890 answer ?
4 on one side 8 on another? Sorry at the library this internet sucks
Is it B?
yaa
in C the left H are 6 and on the right they are 4
6HCl = 6H 2H2 =4H
For an equation to be balanced it must have the same amount of different atoms on both sides. For example if there were four carbon atoms in the reactants then there'd had to be four carbon atoms in the yield as a whole. For a slow, but quite fool-proof way you could actually list the atoms in the equations (C, H, N, O, Na, etc...) and make a list where you have counted the amount of atoms on both sides. For example for chemical reaction \[N _{2} (g) + 3 H _{2}(g) \rightarrow 2 NH _{3}(g)\] you can make a list like this: |dw:1377622361090:dw| As you can see the numbers match and so this chemical equations are balanced. You can do this for those equations as well and see which one actually is balanced.
Thank you both for your help!
@chmvijay Can you help me out with another one in a sec?
love u pumpkin :) why not
