Explanation please? A bag contains 6 oranges, 10 grapefruits, and 8 tangerines. A piece of fruit is chosen from the bag at random. What is the probability that a grapefruit is NOT chosen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many aren't grapefruit? that is your numerator and the total number of fruit will be your denominator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or you could use the complement... P(not grapefruit) = 1 - P(grapefruit). you'll get the same answer
