what is opp/adj ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you asking me what the measures are or what the opposite/adjacent formula is for?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

Sine Function: sin(θ) = Opposite / Hypotenuse Cosine Function: cos(θ) = Adjacent / Hypotenuse Tangent Function: tan(θ) = Opposite / Adjacent

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

that is how the functions are calculated you have a triangle that does not show measure of Hypotenuse, so you need to use the Tan(20) = x/12 x = opposite of angle 35 12= adjacent to angle 35

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

sorry I meant angle 20 not 35

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok! i think i can solve from here!

thank you!
