Hello @wischy Welcome to openstudy :)

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Do you know how to start this off?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Hm, have you learned about converting between log and exponential?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I did probably a year ago. I can't remember how to do these though.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Well switching between them will help: \[\log_{1/2} 8\] Wold become: \[(\frac{1}{2})^x=8\]

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Do you remember your power rules and negative exponents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

When you have a negative power the fraction will switch to a whole number. So to what power will give you an 8? 2^{-x}=8
