interval notation is the use of brackets as limits
i.e (2,5) would mean between but not includung 2 and 5
whereas [4,10] would mean between and including 4 and 10

so for question 3. The (domian x values) where it decdreases is (-7,0) it does not decrease at 0 so we use a round bracket.
Likewise it is decreases from a range (y values) of (3,-4)
