How to study calculus? i don't even understand basic math unless multiplication

It's great that you have an interest in calculus! However, this subject can be challenging even when you have all the background: algebra, geometry and trigonometry. It would be a mistake to tackle calculus without studying those subjects first. Good luck in your studies.

thanks for response. well should i learn algebra, geometry and trigonometry first? i saw Prof Gilbert Strang's video about highlights of calculus, and he even didn't use those subjects,, he only use example like speed and distance as a pair of function. i need your explain for that

It's important to learn algebra before studying calculus, because algebra is used every step of the way. At various points in the course you'll also need to know at least the basics of geometry and trigonometry. You can get by without a thorough knowledge of those subjects, but you'll be completely lost without algebra.

I think this is the most basic math course that MIT offers. For entry into MIT they assume you have at least had algebra, geometry and trigonometry. I was pretty good in those subjects back in 1988, but they are a bit rusty now and the first lecture hurt my brain. lol But it's coming back.

i wasn't good in those subjects, my high school teacher made it very difficult to me. i started to learn again since last month after graduated from high school, so i have to learn from beginning again, but thanks for replying this question, i appreciate it
