how to remember chemical reactions?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

Read. Draw on your walls. Know the concepts behind the reaction and why it works. Your science teachers & the internet are your best friends. Stay away from pretty girls if your a guy........ They are the worst distraction.

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

UNDERSTAND and PRACTICE!!!! PRACTICE!!!! PRACTICE !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You shouldn't remember them you must know how each type of reaction, there are many. Such as: acid + base metal+ acid You should understand the basic 'rule' for each type of chemical reaction, and then you'll easily be able to do them.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

There are far too many reactions in chemistry to even try and memorize. Just understand what is going on. In basic chemistry, it is merely ionic reactions. Meaning \(+\) and \(-\)

OpenStudy (preetha):

Like Anime said, first you have to understand the different types of reactions (Acid BAse, double displacement, redox, combustion, metal displacement) Then when you understnad what each one has for reactants and products, then the next time you see a reaction, you shoul dbe able to fit it into one category. To predict the result. So if you see HCl + NaOH , if you recognized that as a Acid BAse, you could say, the products would be water, and a salt. NaCL and H2O.
