Melissa is studying a Gram-stained slide of curd bacteria. She sees many rod-shaped, violet-colored bacteria. What type of bacteria are they?
When we color bacteria with a "Gram stain," we're trying to find out which two groups of bacteria it could be: 1. Gram Positive 2. Gram Negative Gram POSITIVE bacteria turn PURPLE, when we stain them. Gram NEGATIVE bacteria turn PINK when we stain them.
There are also three main different shapes of bacteria: 1. Coccus (round) 2. Bacillus (rod) 3. Spirillum (spiral) Look at this picture: http://img.sparknotes.com/figures/2/2faaa24e75677b6732cd24bf35c357da/shapes.gif It's pretty simple. All we have to do is memorize it.
thank uou i have another one for you!
